David Buckley

Chairman of Redwood Bank (Limited), Non-executive Director, CIBC World Markets plc, former European CFO for Morgan Stanley and International Treasurer for Goldman Sachs

David holds a number of non-executive and advisory board positions and is currently Chairman of Redwood Bank (Limited), Independent Non-executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee for CIBC World Markets plc, and Chairman of the Little Angels Kindergarten Group in Beijing. He is a Non-executive director and a member of the Audit committee of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, a member of the Manchester University Global Leadership Board, and is Deputy Chairman, Hon. Treasurer, and Chairman of the Investment and Nomination Committees for the River and Rowing Museum, in addition to being a member of the advisory boards for Ilchester Capital and 3D Matters pte.

David was previously the lead Independent Non-executive Director for Fullerton Health pte in Singapore. Prior to that he was European CFO for Morgan Stanley, Chief Executive of Morgan Stanley Bank International and a member of the Firm’s European Management Committee. Before joining Morgan Stanley, David was International Treasurer and European head of the Global Banking Group for Goldman Sachs. David has also worked for Coopers & Lybrand and the Plessey Company plc.

Organisational change and development, business strategy, operations, infrastructure, governance, diversity and mentoring have all been core themes throughout David’s career. David has worked with senior executives for many years and has a deep understanding of organisational culture and leadership development in the context of high performing organisations.

David has had a longstanding involvement in promoting and encouraging diversity issues and brought the City Fellowships to both Goldman and Morgan Stanley as well as sponsoring women’s networks both in Europe and Asia.

David’s graduate and postgraduate studies were both at Manchester University and he is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors. His passion is music and he lives with his wife and young son in London.
