Dominic has run a successful portfolio career for over 25 years, throughout which he has led national and international cultural, sporting and scientific events from conception to implementation. His focus is on navigation of the interpersonal landscape. A diplomatic motivator of diverse contributors, he mobilises goodwill to achieve extraordinary results.
Full executive responsibility for the Lord Mayor’s Show has been the backbone of his portfolio. Concurrent with that he has held the roles of CEO of the London Film Commission, Executive Director of the Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race, and Director of the 2010 Anniversary Programme of the Royal Society. Lord Rees, Astronomer Royal and President of the Royal Society (2005-2010), said that he designed and delivered this complex year-long programme to celebrate the 350th anniversary “with dignity and panache”.
Dominic trained and practised as an architect, following a Short Service Limited Commission in the army. He holds an MA in architecture from Cambridge University, a postgraduate diploma from the Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL, and is a chartered member of the RIBA.
He was appointed OBE in the 2003 New Year’s Honours List for services to the City of London and The Queen’s Golden Jubilee. He is one of Her Majesty’s Commissioners of Lieutenancy for the City of London, Sergeant-at-Mace of the Royal Society, and Honorary Colonel of City of London and NE Sector, Army Cadet Force.
Dominic is married with a daughter.
