Independent Non-Executive Director (“NED”) and Audit Committee Chair for Ambit Energy Corporation, Non-Executive Chairman of lifetile, Non-Executive Advisory role for Audere Solutions Limited
James Dewar has over 30 years of international business, finance, accounting and commercial experience. He currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director (“NED”) and Audit Committee Chair for Ambit Energy Corporation, a Nigerian focussed E&P company, which is planning a future London listing. James is also currently the Non-Executive Chairman of lifetile, a technology start up that has raised four rounds of finance for an innovate digital legacy product launched in 2015. James also currently has a Non-Executive Advisory role for Audere Solutions Limited, a London based forex trading and advisory business.
Until recently, James served as an Independent Non-Executive Advisory Board Member and Audit Committee Chair for Viking Services Limited, a European and Middle East focussed energy services company. During 2013 to 2015, James was also an Independent NED and a member of the Audit Committee and the Remuneration Committee for Energy World Corporation, an Asian focussed energy company head quartered in Honk Kong, listed in the ASX, Australia. James previously also served as an Independent NED for Equus Petroleum Plc., a Kazakhstan E&P company head quartered in the UK; he was also Audit Committee Chair and a member of the Nominations Committee for Equus Plc. Prior to this, James was an Advisor to the CEO, the CFO and the Executive Committee of Atlantic Energy, a London & Lagos private energy company, plus he was an Independent Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chair for the TSX, Canada listed East West Petroleum Corporation. Previously, he was Group CFO, Dana Gas PJSC, listed on the Abu Dhabi stock exchange, then Interim Group CFO at Seven Energy International, a London backed PE company.
James previously spent twenty seven years with BP Plc., holding a number of senior VP and global/regional business CFO and finance roles in BP’s upstream, downstream, trading, chemicals and corporate operations, based in the UK, Middle East, Asia and North America.
James began his career with Ernst & Young, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA).
